About
For 12 years I led a UK manufacturing company through every crisis you can imagine. And I have the scars to show.
I put a trading company into administration when we had to make the hard call for survival. Lost 85% of our revenue overnight when our biggest client walked away. Navigated COVID; supply chain collapse; timber prices spiking when Russia invaded Ukraine. Complete cultural transformation; site relocation; team restructuring - all whilst keeping the business alive.
Eventually I had a successful exit, but I know what it feels like to carry that weight every single day - not from studying it in business school, but from living it.
Based in Bath, I parachute in to stagnating businesses across the U.K., to coaching and advise leaders on how to evolve themselves and their business.
How I Do This Work Differently
Most turnaround specialists are brilliant financial engineers. They cut costs, restructure debt, sort cash flow - essential work that has to be done. But that's not enough to thrive.
Real transformation requires three capabilities that don't often sit together:
Financial expertise - CFA training and Swiss banking experience mean I handle complex restructuring and give you genuine confidence in your numbers
Crisis leadership - 12 years leading through every restructuring scenario taught me what holistic turnaround actually requires
Coaching capability - Professional coaching practice and Samaritans training mean I navigate the human side: the disillusionment, resistance, and psychological weight that breaks change initiatives
That combination is what allows me to manage the financials whilst transforming your entire business ecosystem - not just one or the other.
Clarity → Stability → Transformation → Innovation
How Turnaround Actually Works
Most businesses in crisis don't need a miracle, they need a clear path through the chaos. Over 12 years of operational leadership, I've refined how transformation actually happens into four distinct phases:
Clarity – Honest diagnosis of where you really are. Not the story you've been telling yourself, but what the numbers, the culture, and the market are actually saying. Most leaders skip this because they think they already know. They're usually wrong.
Stability – Stopping the bleeding. Securing cash flow, locking in critical relationships, making the hard calls that buy you time to think. This isn't about strategy yet, it's about surviving long enough to have strategic options.
Transformation – Rebuilding the operating model. This is where the real work happens: restructuring teams, fixing broken workflows, resetting culture, and creating a business that can actually deliver on its promises. Half-measures don't work here.
Innovation – Competitive repositioning for the future. Once you're stable and functional, this is where you reimagine how you compete: new market models, technology integration, and the kind of strategic moves that put you ahead rather than just keeping pace.
Most turnaround specialists stop at Stability. Some push through to Transformation. Very few help you reach Innovation, because it requires a completely different skillset.
I work across all four phases because real competitive advantage comes from not just surviving the crisis, but emerging fundamentally stronger than you were before.
